Installer should prompt user to run rankmirrors (with default answer to Yes) (note: rankmirrors is part of pacman3)

Roman: That won't work, rankmirrors is a python script and python isn't installed unless the user requests (ie not part of base or required by pacman package.)

Then it should be rewritten in bash! :P
Seriously, dtw or iphitus suggested nice idea for selecting mirror in installer from (randomized) mirror list (country/region names).

Two things for a newer ISO install CD:

It should have:

1. Pacman 3.0.x installed

2. Packages 'portmap' and 'nfs-utils' installed.

I'd like a timeout of 30 seconds or so, elapsed it, the installer should start with "arch".
Why? Because macbooks have a bug in "really dunno" and the keyboard doesn't work in that phase
( to be honest the keyboard works, but you have to be lucky pressing the key in an exact $RANDOM nanosecond )
