Due to the new release schedule for Arch Installations, and the relatively small size of the ftp-iso, would it be possible for an auto-update feature to the installer? If the user selects FTP install, the installer would automatically check the mirror for the newest version of the installer, downloads, and restarts the Arch install? This would make any Arch CD be able to install the latest version of the OS using the latest installer.

This came to mind when 0.8 was pending and I installed .72 and tried to install from FTP. The installer did not know we moved to mkinitcpio and the installation left the user without a working system unless they knew to generate mkinitcpio instead of mkinitrd.

probably not possible, due to new setup may use other routines, new isos will now come up withe very kernel release so it's not necessary to ahve such a feature
