Description:
VLC refuses to play certain AVIs which are run fine by mplayer (and by VLC on my other Arch install, funny as it may be). Packages: VLC 0.8.6c-1 ffmpeg 20070505-4 This is the error VLC outputs in the CLI: [stijn@okeanos bsg3]$ vlc 12\ Rapture.avi VLC media player 0.8.6c Janus [00000287] main decoder error: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `XVID'. VLC probably does not support this sound or video format. [00000265] main playlist: stopping playback It only runs the audio, no video on screen (just black).
