Description:
Since Firefox 43, if ~/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini contains a gtk-font-name setting, Firefox won't
display any UI text (website text is okay though). Other Gtk3 applications are working fine.

The issue isn't specific to a single profile, the Profile Manager is affected as well. The text
is not just transparent, it is actually missing; all buttons are much too narrow.

I don't use a full desktop environment, so I don't have gnome-settings-daemon or similar.

I have gtk-font-name set and don't have this problem. Are you sure it's set correctly?

I have it set to "DejaVu Sans 10", but other font families or sizes don't make a difference. A mentioned, other Gtk3 applications don't have this issue and seem to handle my setting correctly.

What theme?

Adwaita, but removing gtk-theme-name or setting it to HighContrast doesn't help either.

Please try: cp /usr/share/gtk-3.0/settings.ini ~/.config/gtk-3.0/

Ah, the issue was that I had quotation marks around the font name. I still wonder why only Firefox was affected...

Please note the font size of gtk3 application is larger than in gtk2 (size 11 is a size 10 in gtk3)
