Pulseaudio is a community package, so it won't get included.
I'm waiting at pulseaudio 0.9.7, when that one is released I'll throw esound away and make pulseaudio replace it.

Pulseaudio 0.9.7 was released October 30
Pulseaduio 0.9.8 was released November 20

Any news on this?

+1 on this. Pulseaudio 0.9.11 «Glitch-free» is out and it package in community already has 117 votes.
But: pulseaudio 0.9.11 depends on consolekit (in AUR) which depends on policykit (in AUR too) and on ALSA 1.0.17 (we have 1.0.16-1.0.15 in extra).
On my system pulseaudio 0.9.11 has the following extra dependencies, most of which are optional: speex, jack-audio-connection-kit, tcp_wrappers, bluez-libs, gconf, policykit, lirc-utils, avahi.

What's the status of this issue? There's no pulseaudio package in extra.

I'm going to close this as "Deferred" until pulseaudio hits [extra]. Not much that can be done until then
