Description:

After configuring nvidia modules (nvideo-xconfig) a sound module (snd_intel8x0m) was added to rc.conf.

This made the system load both snd_intel8x0 and snd_intel8x0m modules during boot. The solution is to remove one of them. I removed the former from /etc/rc.conf and it works now.

you use a gui tool which touches rc.conf?
we don't support gui tools that touches rc.conf
