Description:
I updated yesterday from xorg-server 1.4-6 to 1.4.0.90-1.
If I try to open an icewm menu entry the whole X server freezes.
It is neither possible to kill the X server with CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE
nor the get a console window (CTRL+ALT+Fx).
The kernel is still running and it is possible to reboot or halt via SYSRQ.

I encountered this problem already with Debian unstable.
But at this time I expected that it is Debian specific.

Steps to reproduce:
Upgrade to xorg-server 1.4.0.90-1 and try to open an icewm menu entry.
This task depends upon

Could you provide more info? I wasn't able to reproduce this with 3 pcs now. Both 32bit and 64bit icewm's on 1.4.0.90 work like a charm for me.

I attached my /etc/X11/xorg.org.

Since upgrade from xorg-server 1.4-6 to 1.4.0.90-1 22.12.07 when I exit wrom icewm, by presing Ctrl+Alt+Del and selecting Exit from menu, XServer hung and i can only press power button to shutdown (truth ACPI daemon) and power on again. Conbinations CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE and CTRL+ALT+Fx works good.

@Evgenij
I found out that it is possible to avoid the reboot by killing X via SYSRQ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SysRq).
If I use the key combination ALT+SYSRQ+K X restarts.
After this I could not switch to another console or restart X via CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE but its better than rebooting every time.

@Alexander
My problem occurs even if I remove all modules from the module section.

Few minutes ago I have updated my Debian unstable installation. The package xserver-xorg-core was updated to 2:1.4.1~git20071212-2.
With this update the icewm problem disappeared.
Ubuntu HardyHeron Alpha2 still contains xserver-xorg-core version 2:1.4.1~git20071212-1ubuntu2 and there is the problem present.
Please check the corresponding bug report (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=451989) and apply the relevant patch.

Changelog for Debian package tells, that the only one patch was added to 2nd release - 08_xkb_infinite_loop.diff.

BTW, I've compared patchsets from xserver-xorg-core-2:1.4.1~git20071212-1ubuntu2 and xserver-xorg-core-2:1.4.1~git20071212-2 (Debian version). Ubuntu package includes all the patches from Debian + some own/Fedora patches, so I wonder, why it doesn't work as needed. :)

I upgraded xorg-server (1.4.0.90-1 -> 1.4.0.90-3). The problem disappeared!

Unfortunately with xorg-server 1.4.0.90-3 it is not possible to enter Unlaute and other special characters.
This was no problem with 1.4.0.90-1!

I can confirm this appears to be fixed in 1.4.0.90-3 but I don't know anything about the i18n breakage.
