Description: After upgrading to xorg-server in [extra], my
LCD laptop screen flickers when using the open source radeon
driver (from xf86-video-ati). It doesn't matter whether 3D
acceleration (glx & dri) is en- or disabled.
While using vesa, no flickering appears. My hardware: ATI Radeon 7500 mobility. lspci: 00:00.0 Host bridge: ATI Technologies Inc RS200/RS200M AGP Bridge [IGP 340M] (rev 02) Additional info: * package version(s) xorg-server 1.4-5 xf86-video-ati 6.7.195-1 * attached config and log files: - working xorg.conf (with vesa driver) - not working xorg.conf (with radeon driver) - (WW) section of Xor.0.log with radeon driver and enabled 3D acceleration Steps to reproduce: use ATI Radeon 7500 mobility with radeon driver |

it looks like a driver problem
and it's fixed in git
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13149
would be great if you can add this patch to the package
hope this links are helpful
I tried xf86-video-ati-6.7.195-2 with no success.
My problem is exactly the one described by Logan Buesching on
https://bugs.launchpad.net/xorg-server/+bug/150361
I'm on a Dell Inspiron 600m with a 1400x1050 display
