Details
During installation, the Configure Network option in the
menu will only work with eth0. In my laptop, I have multiple
ethernet devices. The primary one used during install is
actually eth1 since I like to install the system docked. The
workaround is to undock and use eth0 that's built in...so
long as you can find a wired connectioned (otherwise, I have
to find a way to use eth1 for the pcmcia wireless).

If you want to use a different eth interface, just bring up networking manually (from the commandline) with ifconfig and route. Then run /arch/setup and skip the Configure Network step.
