A little more insight would be useful here. The -_ variable issue should be handled for the most part already, I don't know about symlinks though. Is this still an issue, tpowa? If not can you possibly give me more detail... like a test case?

yes it is still an issue, imho.
if you add a symlink in binaries array it just adds the symlink as complete binary and doesn't add the binary and then symlink to it correct.

I think it's still an issue, but a minor one, seeing as a lot of people don't use the BINARIES list that often

correct -_ issue is fixed in latest mkinitcpio.
