Description:
Eclipse crashes while showing the splashscreen and starting up.

Additional info:
* Version: 3.2.2-1
* Gnome 2.19

Steps to reproduce:
Just start eclipse from a shell or via the menu entry in Gnome.

Additional comments about closing:  Fixed in bug-buddy 2.20.0-2, the signal handler is no longer registered for applications that catch their own signals (java in this case).

Hmm, this is the same crash I had with azureus when using sun java. Using java-gcj-compat it worked fine. This seems to be related to the googlebreakpad module that ships with bug-buddy. After uninstalling bug-buddy azureus starts fine with sun jre.

It seems that the original java is very hard to run inside any debugger. GDB will also cause a segfault in this case. when bug-buddy is installed, gnome-session will put gnomebreakpad into the GTK_MODULES environment variable. If you want to keep bug-buddy but want to keep java working, this needs to be unset from the launcher:

export GTK_MODULES="${GTK_MODULES/gnomebreakpad/}"

Thanks for your comments Jan, I just tested Eclipse 3.3.0 and it work's fine, even with bug buddy.
