more info: downgrading kdiff3 to 1.10.0-2 the text is displayed and it works well.

Works fine here in a fresh Gnome VM with Wayland. There are no other reports. It must be something specific to your system/setup. Are you running in HiDPI?

I'm seeing the same issue in 1.10.2-1, but I'm running XFCE 4.18, gtk 3.24.37, 6.3.1-arch-1-1 with AMD Radeon Graphics
It doesn't report anything unusual when started on the command line
If one tries to merge the above 'empty' text1.txt text2.txt then the merge panel *does* show text as normal which seems to indicate gtk and XFCE are somewhat happy.

Blank text panels issue is resolved for me in 1.10.3-1 Many thanks to those involved!
