Description:

The PKGBUILD of the 'discord' package contains some outdated stuff.

1. The upstream URL should be changed to 'https://discord.com/' ('https://discordapp.com/' is outdated).
2. The upstream's '.desktop' file already contains thee 'Path' variable and it is no longer needed to be appended (remove last line of prepare()).
3. The icon location should probably be '/usr/share/icons/hicolor/256x256/apps/$pkgname.png' instead of '/usr/share/pixmaps/$pkgname.png'
Also I'm not sure if this is allowed but the icon could be changed to a scalable one even though it is not provided in the upstream package. An article on Discord's website (https://discord.com/branding) contains their branding guidelines including an SVG logo without the blue circle. I recreated the app logo (with the circle) in compliance with the provided guidelines and it could be used as the app icon if Arch package guidelines allow such actions. I attach the logo to the report.

Additional info:

package and version: discord 0.0.24-1

I just committed the first two changes, thanks. Does the application icon not work in its current location, or what's your third suggestion trying to fix exactly?

I couldn't find any specification on the current location and the `hicolor` directory is the one used by most applications and also seems to be more supported.

Also another thing that's outdated is the description. Discord is currently not advertised as an app for just gamers and no longer uses that slogan. discord.com's summary says: "Discord is the easiest way to talk over voice, video, and text. Talk, chat, hang out, and stay close with your friends and communities.". Something like that would match modern Discord.

Not going to change the description right now, but the icon location has been updated and the rest was fixed already.
