Description:
Ever since kernel v6.1.0, including the latest v6.1.2, the entire system freezes after my *Netgear A6210* USB wifi adapter connects to the internet. This uses the *MediaTek MT7612U* chip and `mt76` driver. This is reported upstream, with a patch at [[v4] wifi: mac80211: fix initialization of rx->link and rx->link_sta - Patchwork](https://patchwork.kernel.org/project/linux-wireless/patch/20221217085624.52077-1-nbd@nbd.name/). It's been almost a month now, and upstream still hasn't merged this patch. Could this be merged into *Arch Linux*, so people affected can update their kernel? Other reports include: - [[v4] wifi: mac80211: fix initialization of rx->link and rx->link_sta - Patchwork](https://patchwork.kernel.org/project/linux-wireless/patch/20221217085624.52077-1-nbd@nbd.name/#25144088) - [Full system freeze shortly after boot on kernel 6.1.1 / Kernel & Hardware / Arch Linux Forums](https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=2075750) Additional info: - Package versions: v6.1.0 - v6.1.2 - Link to upstream bug report:20221217085624.52077-1-nbd@nbd.name/#25144088"> https://patchwork.kernel.org/project/linux-wireless/patch/20221217085624.52077-1-nbd@nbd.name/#25144088 Steps to reproduce: - Reboot system. - Wait until a USB wifi adapter with *MediaTek MT7612U* chip connects to the internet. |
