Details
Description: ACPI events are not reported to upower /
acpid
Additional info: * package version(s): linux-5.19.* * config and/or log files etc. * link to upstream bug report, if any: none Steps to reproduce: on updating to most current linux kernel version 5.19, ASUS laptop (TUF gaming) with most recent BIOS, battery status and battery level do not update, unplugging / plugging the AC adapter does not trigger any events / notifications What works: upon downgrading to linux-5.18, the acpi events are once again reported accurately to upower / acpid, the battery levels change on charging / discharging, events like unplugging / plugging the AC adapter trigger event sounds / notifications in KDE / xfce. What doesn't work: downgrading upower, uninstalling/reinstalling upower/acpi, changing kernel boot options to "acpi=off" (laptop doesn't proceed beyond showing the archlinux version). The problem isn't hardware-related, not BIOS-related, the battery is fine, the laptop is less than one year old. Windows 11 shows discharging / charging changes in battery levels. |
