Is it possible to recompile net-snmp with the following configure option: --enable-blumenthal-aes
This will add support for SHA256 / AES256 for SNMPv3. Defaults authentication are weak...

This will add a dependency to openssl

In case it helps anything, a number of other distributions have it enabled despite it being a "draft".
