DetailsDescription:
At some point recently, Noto Sans Display became a variant in the Noto repo. This is causing some issues with incorrect font resolution in some programs. For example, on my system, setting KDE font to Noto Sans actually sets it to Noto Sans Display. Further, the italic variant doesn't work at all in KDE and just becomes a super slanted version. Is it possible to fix this via font config somehow, or revert the display font to an older version without this issue? Bug is happening in version 20220502-2 Upstream bug report: https://github.com/googlefonts/noto-fonts/issues/2315 |

Is it any better with 20220502-3?

I still seem to be experiencing the glitches I reported in https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/74715 even after 20220502-3 (on four separate computers on both KDE and sway and on both X and Wayland). I am not sure if they are related to this report but it seems probable. Can OP or anyone else with the this issue verify if you are experiencing the symptoms I reported there? I must re-downgrade to 20201226-2 for now
