Looks like inkscape-0.38.1-1 wants libgnomeprintui-2-2.so.0.
I don't know if it's REALLY NEEDED, and anyway it should be
listed in dependencies.

I recompiled the package using "./configure --prefix=/usr --with-xft --with-popt" (without --with-gnome-print) and it works...
I don't know exactly what is the policy of maintainer
but it's very unconvinient to install gnome libraries just
to use some gtk application or be forced to recompile it.

At least without gnome-print it works no matter do you have
installed gnome or not.

So I believe that you should remove gnome-print
dependency (listed or not) from inkscape.

while fiddling around with the package there was a new dependency for perl which shouldn't be a problem, since perl is part of the base system. There are otions to build filters based on perl. You will have some perl module installed which I wanted to keep out, since the are not part of base. Having a couple of builds around then i finally posted the wrrng one, sorry.
It's my policy to keep gnome out if possible. Printing is still possible, maybe not that easily.
