It is more consistent with other packages to split package the Python files into python-libcec as it is done with Debian for example (https://packages.debian.org/source/libcec) to reduce disk usage and filesystem clutter when Python support is not needed. I don't see those python files in libcec-6.0.2-2.

@Allan I believe libcec-6.0.2-2 is missing python in makedepends so Python isn't detected and Python support enabled.

Neither of those are reasons to split a package. You'll notice that this isn't Debian.

Having python as an optdepend is sufficient imo
