Details
hp-toolbox, an advanced config for HP printers and part of
the hplip package, does not work without the xsane package,
spitting out this error:
Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/hp-toolbox", line 51, in <module> from ui.devmgr4 import DevMgr4 File "/usr/share/hplip/ui/devmgr4.py", line 49, in <module> from scrollunload import ScrollUnloadView File "/usr/share/hplip/ui/scrollunload.py", line 25, in <module> from pcard import photocard File "/usr/share/hplip/pcard/photocard.py", line 33, in <module> import pcardext ImportError: libnetsnmp.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Installing xsane makes everything worked perfectly. As xsane requires gtk2, it might be preferable to just have a message after the installation mentioning the issue. This was tested with hplip-1.7.4a-2 and xsane-0.994-1. |

It will be interesitn to see if the new release is any better - hehe. The only thing this hplip does is to provide some hp drivers - but hp-setup and hp-toolbox does not work - and has not worked for quite some time now.
