Restarted kwin_x11 and after that it works. Problem has appeared randomly several times. Sometimes I was able to restart kwin_x11. Sometimes there were no reaction to keyboard after killing kwin_x11. Happens several times in a day.

Does it work if you downgrade to kernel 5.14?
Comment by Andris Pavenis (andris) - Thursday, 02 December 2021, 17:07 GMT
Installed linux-lts 5.10.83-1. Perhaps there is no need to install exactly 5.14 if 5.15 is suspected.
Upgrade to 5.15 happened about the same time when I began to experience these random freezes.
Testing will take some time as freezes did not happen very often (no more than several times per day).

Reproduced with kernel Linux ap 5.10.83-1-lts:

'killall -9 kwin_x11' from terminal and after that "Alt-F2" and restarting kwin_x11 fixed session

please do test with 5.14. It is perfectly possible that a regression affects both linux and linux-lts.

I am not sure if it's the same bug, but I experience it a lot with kwin_wayland session:

* Exists on linux-5.15 and linux-lts-5.10
* Revert to linux-5.14 helps
* Affects plasma, kwin, other components like screenlocker, causes frequent crashes
* For example, plasma does not crash, but stops updating the screen. So I can click on buttons, but applets do not update their state, clock does not go forward, etc...
* Another example: after unlocking the screen, screenlocker does not disappear until I go to another tty and back

Hardware:

* Dell XPS 13 9380
* i7-8565U
* Intel WhiskeyLake-U GT2 [UHD Graphics 620]
* kwin 5.23.5-1

No, that is a recent regression in qtwayland which is being worked on
