Description:

After upgrading systemd to 249.5-1 errors on shutdown/reboot started to show:

[ 52.684081] watchdog: watchdog0: watchdog did not stop!
[ 52.811684] sd-umoun[1115]: Failed to umount /oldroot: Device or resource busy
[ 52.813048] sd-umoun[1116]: Failed to umount /oldroot/sys: Device or resource busy
[ 52.814887] shutdown[1]: Failed to finalize the file systems, ignoring.

this error persists after upgrading to systemd 249.5-2.
Also worth noting is that this issue occurs on an optimus laptop with NVIDIA drivers installed.

So this does not happen with 249.4?
No idea what causes it... Any chance you bisect this?

Yes unfortunately it's still happening with the lastest systemd version.
I'm sorry I won't be able to bisect this since I'm not that tech-savvy.

I'm still learning but do not have much time on my hands. It might take me some months.
