Description:
Problem occurs in both Wayland and Xorg, but not Gnome classic, where Kate shows, but no icon. The kate icon disappears from the app finder shortly after installing. Encountered this bug on Manjaro GNOME after updating and fresh after installing Arch GNOME. Not sure if it triggers normally after a while or after adding to favorites. Kate opens normally from the terminal. This is fresh install of Arch using the archinstaller with the GNOME profile + pipewire with the May/1/2021 iso. This is my first time using GNOME shell in several years. Please provide detailed instructions if you want debugging output. Additional info: * package version(s) gnome-shell 40.0+67+g79acae41-1 kate 21.04.0-1 * config and/or log files etc. * link to upstream bug report, if any https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/4227 Steps to reproduce: 1) Install Kate. 2) Add Kate to favorites. 3) Open Kate 4) Close Kate. |
