It looks like nmap is being distributed under a new license
as of version 7.90. [1] The Arch package is marked as GPL2
which was never correct because it used a modified version
of it before. The Fedora people have determined that the
license is non-free/non-OSD compliant due to ambiguous text
[2] (I'm not entirely sure how much this impacts Arch). The
nmap website claims it hasn't been certified because it
requires an attorney. [3]
The package should at least be updated to reflect this new license. [1] https://nmap.org/changelog#7.90 [2] https://www.mail-archive.com/devel-announce%40lists.fedoraproject.org/msg02463.html [3] https://nmap.org/npsl/ |
