Description:
After the latest update of the NVIDIA packages, my whole display freezes on mouse movement. For example : when watching a youtube video, on each mouse movement, you can see the video freeze, then continue when the mouse stops. Sound is not affected. That means that on continuous mouse movement, the display is completely frozen until the mouse stops. It has been resolved after I downgraded the packages to the previous version. Additional info: * Package versions before and after the downgrade that solved the problem : 15978 [2020-11-01T16:22:06+0100] [ALPM] downgraded nvidia-utils (455.38-1 -> 455.28-1) 15979 [2020-11-01T16:22:06+0100] [ALPM-SCRIPTLET] If you run into trouble with CUDA not being available, run nvidia-modprobe first. 15980 [2020-11-01T16:22:07+0100] [ALPM] downgraded lib32-nvidia-utils (455.38-1 -> 455.28-1) 15981 [2020-11-01T16:22:07+0100] [ALPM] downgraded libxnvctrl (455.38-1 -> 455.28-1) 15982 [2020-11-01T16:22:07+0100] [ALPM] downgraded nvidia-dkms (455.38-1 -> 455.28-1) 15983 [2020-11-01T16:22:07+0100] [ALPM] downgraded nvidia-settings (455.38-1 -> 455.28-1) * Config : * NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 * Up-to-date Arch Linux system with : * KDE Plasma on X * linux-zen Steps to reproduce: Upgrade the following packages to version 455.38-1 : * nvidia-utils * lib32-nvidia-utils * libxnvctrl * nvidia-dkms * nvidia-settings |
