Description:
May I suggest to have a hook or something similar (perhaps a touch in PKGBUILD) that can create a reboot-required file in every linux update ? touch /var/run/reboot-required and perhaps remove this file on every boot ? This could help users to understand when they need to reboot their machine and in general in cloud images based on archlinux, or via cloud-init and in general automated the upgrade process. thanks in advance, Additional info: * package version(s) * config and/or log files etc. * link to upstream bug report, if any Steps to reproduce: |

Reason for closing: Won't implement
Additional comments about closing: Please follow the pacman output closely. Not only for reboot reasons, but also for errors in the initramfs or pacnew files. You don't need a reboot-required file then.
