Description:
cgit is a very classical and simplified git hosting service. However, it is not so powerful, User cannot directly interactive with package maintainer on the git repo. Everything should redirect through flyspray. Package Maintainer cannot directly focus the issue on the packages they are maintaining. This problem is much more obvious on AUR. Even if AUR have comment ability. But this is not quite enough new comments will flush old comment, and every comment exists equally, Maintainer cannot figure out which comments are same topic. But with modern issue-discussion model. The problem will be solved. Now, a lot of other `pacman` based Linux distros are choosing GitLab, at least Gitea for their daily development. Frankly speaking, Arch Linux is their `upstream`, the majority of development happens in here instead of there. So I strongly recommend to setup a GitLab server for packages packaging. If it is too heavy, Gitea would be a good choice. Additional info: * package version(s) * config and/or log files etc. * link to upstream bug report, if any Steps to reproduce: |
