Details

Xterm searches for luit in /usr/X11R6/bin, while it should in /usr/bin.

A rebuild on recent (0.8, as of 07th March 2007) ArchLinux system from PKGBUILD provided through CVS makes the program find the correct paths, probably during configure.

Ofcourse, the build system must have xorg-apps.

pacman -Qo /usr/bin/luit
/usr/bin/luit is owned by xorg-apps 1.0.2-3

So, xterm+luit should be made dependant upon xorg-apps.
