Description:
Latest update to nvidia-utils (440.44-2 by grazzolini) broke HDMI output for my laptop (i7-8750H and GTX 1070). External displays and TVs weren't detected anymore by KDE (kscreen). I'm 100% sure the problem is caused by this package as it was the only one that was upgraded between reboots. Switching to AUR package nvidia-utils-beta fixed the problem. Additional info: Six lines of code were removed from PKGBUILD. They must've been there for a reason. https://git.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/commit/trunk?h=packages/nvidia-utils&id=65ce50c4fd7388e91987cd2d271881e4ae126902 |

Adding the following line back into the xorg conf file fixes it for me:
Option "PrimaryGPU" "yes"
