Description: Widelands crash on every attempt to load a map
for playing

Maybe its a good Idea, if you add the console output of yours,
guess you have another Graphics card, maybe resolution and such.
Could be helpfull information
As far i understand the PKGBUILD downloads the source from launchpad:
https://git.archlinux.org/svntogit/community.git/tree/trunk/PKGBUILD?h=packages/widelands
So i think changing the source would help here.
