Details

There is a bug in dhcpcd 8.1.1 where IPv4 flags can become corrupted on renewal. This causes 100% CPU usage, see https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1872054#p1872054.

The fix is at https://roy.marples.name/cgit/dhcpcd.git/commit/?id=73ac184333f77b38a8b4c4202c2928278e2237ca. If there's no release soon, we should potentially consider releasing 8.1.1-2 with this patch applied locally.

I agree, the commits after 8.1.1 have a lot of fixes in them. It would be nice to have a revised version with the latest patches.
