This rc script is not a daemon, so stop and restart are not needed, but stop() was made to allow correct shutdown with current rc.shutdown.
See for improved rc.shutdown which will eliminate dummy stop() workaround.

There's just cosmetic (copy/paste?) bug - echo "usage: $0 {start|stop|restart}" - restart should be removed.
