Description:
The DeltaUp functionality has been removed. It might be hard to empathize with people with low-speed connections from the vantage point of the high-speed connections available in the first-world cities. In my area, the only available connections are 66Kbps so the difference between a 150Mb and a 300Mb update is huge. The https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Deltup wiki page at the `Disadvantages` basically describes how the system should work. It's not my intention to accuse the devs of intentionally discriminating against the poor, but they must, at very least, understand that their actions have even of extreme prejudice for those with low-speed connections. And all to avoid maintaining a few lines of code and fewer lines in the mirror's crontab. Additional info: pacman 5.2.0 Steps to reproduce: use UseDelta in your pacman.conf |
