Details
Description:
In /etc/logrotate.d/gitlab, the Gitlab logs are rotated daily, instead of weekly. They are also kept for 90 days instead of 4 weeks as are other logs. This creates many hundreds of small log files in /var/log/gitlab, which makes it annoying to access the latest log files to diagnose problems with Gitlab startup issues. Can there be no special treatment to Gitlab? Weekly rotation kept for 4 weeks seem reasonable. Additional info: * package version(s) gitlab 12.2.4-1 |

Sounds reasonable. Could you make a patch with your recommended
values?

Ah sorry I haven't replied in so long. My personal config is as
attached (can't use markdown here but the file is very simple).

I attached a patch file for convenience if you need. Could you
have a look at this?

Thank you for bringing this issue up. Your config has been merged
as r543600 and will be available with the next package release.
