I have no idea why this segfault happens, I've just tried with i3 + nvidia, deepin desktop + nvidia, plasma desktop + intel, kodi started with startx + nvidia, none of those give me a segfault

could you try with a new .kodi folder?
Comment by Marcin Woźniak (yorune) - Wednesday, 13 March 2019, 22:10 GMT

Do you have other applications using OpenGL ? From the difference between your logs and mine I see the GL_* Fields are NULL, where those are properly filledin in the logs of my tests.

Could you post the output of glinfo?

I'm also experiencing segfault during startup after updating to kodi 18.

For me it only happens when starting kodi from Gnome on wayland. Starting kodi from Gnome on Xorg works without issues.

I'm currently rebuilding kodi to include the native wayland support to see if it helps.

EDIT: Build finished successfully, and I can confirm kodi-wayland doesn't segfault for me.

Thanks Joonas, I'll have to add the wayland support then to make it work properly
