Details
When doing a pacman -S gnome from a base system, some part
of it should depend on 'xorg', to assure that all the
necessary bits of Xorg are installed.

The point here is that in situations like a terminal server or some commercial X-server, you don't want to have xorg-server installed, as you don't need it.
"Won't fix"?
