Details

Specific version of Java is needed to run nvvp, it does not work with Java 10 or 11. Hence, the optdepends should specify the needed version.

I'm not sure if it works with e.g. both Java 11 and 8 installed and 11 set to the default, nvvp seems to search Java through /usr/bin/java which would point to the version 11...

Hi, indeed nvvp seems to require jre8. However, there is not much we can do. Even if we require java-runtime=8, the user can still choose to install jre/jre10 as well and set that as the default - then nvvp will still not work.

Can the workaround added in [1] be changed to point directly to /usr/lib/jvm/java-8-openjdk/jre/bin/java instead of /usr/bin/java?
