Description:
linux-firmware packages the AMD CPU microcode in /usr/lib/firmware/amd-ucode/ and loads it using /usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/linux-firmware.conf . This complicates things for people who might not want to load the microcode, they now need to override the tmpfiles.d conf file. Consider packaging the firmware files used for late loading together with the initramfs image for early loading in the amd-ucode package. Additional comments about closing: "I dislike having updated microcode" is nonstandard; users who hate security can use the very simple method you described to override the sane default.
