Introduced in  FS#49077 , AFAICT it is because of all these GObject imports: https://github.com/gnumdk/lollypop/search?q=gst&type=Code But if I'm understanding this correctly, alucryd wanted to ensure the "preferred" overrides are used rather than relying on the basic detection.

Is there a reason not to do that?

GObject imports are gi-instrospection imports, not gst-python imports.

Ok, after looking at gst-python, Lollypop only use default python-gi bindings.
