Description:

Recently (sometime in the second half of december 2017), the default PATH variable changed from ordering /usr/local/bin before /usr/bin to the reverse.

It can be fixed by editing /etc/security/pam_env.conf, but I assume this shouldn't be needed.

Before, when executing /etc/profile PATH was unset, now it is set to /usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin.

I failed to identify since which PAM version this is happening (it also shows the new bahavior with pam-1.2.0). So I'm not even sure PAM is at fault.

Additional info:
* package version(s)
* config and/or log files etc.

pam 1.3.0-1

Steps to reproduce:

- echo $PATH
