Details

After upgrade from irssi-1.0.4-1 to irssi-1.0.4-3 status bar doesn't redraw properly (i.e. it doesn't draw it to the end of line, thus accumulating garbage).

You might be seeing  FS#55322 . You should check if the issue exists in a vte3-based terminal like xfce4-terminal or gnome-terminal (and verify you have vte3 0.50.1-1 or newer, if it doesn't work in those terminals either).

Yes, it's probably that. Though, with vte3 0.50.1-1, the issue exists in xfce4-terminal, but not in gnome-terminal.
