java-runtime should be pinned to 8, I think.

Additional info:
* package version(s): 4.2.1
* config and/or log files etc.

sudo pacman -S maven (choosing jdk 9)
makepkg -si
   log (315.4 KiB)

Good catch, I had changed the makedep but missed the depends.
