Please check the attached patch. The current debian patchset fixes lots of problems for me, including
proper Postfix/STARTTLS support.

The attach diff should close  FS#5391  & 5397.

That worked for me as well, but debian patchset version has increased version since then. Find new diff attached and so has md5sum.

Also change 'openssl' to 'gnutls' in the list of deps, pls. ssmtp depends solely on gnutls.
