could you please report the output of:

ldd /usr/lib/vlc/gui/libwxwidgets_plugin.so

and

vlc --no-plugins-cache --list

Thanks a lot for the reply. I tried to do what you asked, and I found out the VLC was broken due to the DBUS upgrade. I went ahead and rebuilt it using the new PKGBUILD, and it works fine now. Now to get VLVC up and running...
