the gimp packag does contain a .desktop file, whichs Changelog says:

that the Application part got removed due to changing standards, It seems the Gnome guys have to rewrite their menu code.

Tobias Kieslich, this is not about a missing .desktop file. Maybe that's another bug?
This one is about the gimp package in 'current' being newer than in 'testing'.
