Description:
After my daily Syu, plasma session couldn't start correctly.
Some blured background where panel used to be, and no responses to right click on desktop, etc. krunner and yakuake started and continued to behave well, but plasma itself didn't respond after startup.
Nothing on journalctl logs about it. Started to downgrade the packages I'd updated, and found the culprit on libcups 2.2.0.
Downgrading to 2.1.4-2 made plasma work again.
I've the printer addon on systray, but never configured printers on cups.

Additional info:
* plasma-desktop 5.7.5-1 and 5.7.95-1
* libcups 2.2.0-1
* linux 4.7.4-1
* mesa 12.0.3-1

Steps to reproduce:
* Full update on system with plasma and libcups
* Try to start plasma, with existing user or empty configs on new test user.
* See plasma hanging and desktop unresponsive.

Does it work if you remove print-manager?
Comment by André Vitor Matos (andre.vmatos) - Saturday, 17 September 2016, 04:44 GMT
Yes. Confirm removing print-manager applet, upgrading libcups and relogging in with libcups upgraded didn't trigger the bug.
Then, just trying to re-enable the applet with plasma running and ugpraded libcups freezes plasma.
Restarting plasma not successful also. Downgrading libcups makes plasma start again.

No fix, still freezing on startup with your package installed.
