DetailsIt would be nice if hdparm was avaliable when installing Arch. It would speed up things a bit.

So, if I understand correctly, modern kernels and modern hardware doesn't need hdparm.
However, hdparm is useful for CD drives, as it allows to lower down speed (and noise).
Maybe some hdparm-howto should be added too.
