Description: I upgraded yesterday to gtk 3.20.2 as it landed in testing. I noticed that both mate and mate-gtk display were partly broken : Menu was compacted and icons in mozilla Firefox were very close to each others.

I "fixed" this bug by "upgrading" mate-theme source code using http://pub.mate-desktop.org/releases/themes/3.20/mate-themes-3.20.4.tar.xz

Could it be possible to upgrade mate-themes in testing - until gtk 3.20.x lands in extra to fix broken display ?

Additional info:
gtk 3.20.2-1
mate 1.12.1.

Steps to reproduce:

Just get an archlinux box with mate (or mate-gtk3), with testing enabled. Bring gtk 3.20.x upgrade, log out, log in again and see display being shrinked in gtk3 enabled software like Mozilla Firefox.

Another screenshot with NetworkManager displaying available networks... Very shrinked and not readable at all.

I'm using KDE and I also have this issue.
Firefox, pavucontrol and probably all GTK3 apps have this compacted look.

I had this issue as well on KDE and it appears to be related to the Breeze GTK 3 style. Once I changed the style from 'Breeze' to 'Default' for GTK 3 in 'GNOME Application Style (GTK)' in 'Application Style' in 'System Settings', the problems with wireshark-gtk (which is the application I tested this on) went away.

Doug asked I re-open this bug even though the other one isn't a duplicate at all.

https://github.com/mate-desktop/mate-themes/issues/114

It's an entirely different bug about text not working right, has nothing to do with "compacted" stuff in this bug. Can we please just reopen one of the two?

In version 3.20.5-2, I applied the upstream fixes for the text selection problem in firefox, so no major problems left I think.

Thanks, just upgraded and testing -- it looks great, fixes all the Firefox problems that I can tell.
