Description:

Since the upgrade to the driver version 355.11, some people have problems when connecting displays with VGA or DVI.
There is a thread in the official forum, linking to some error reports in Arch forums:

https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/881804/linux/not-alone-vga-dvi-issue-on-355-11-linux-driver-/

Downgrading to 352.41 helps, but that blocks various other updates like the Linux kernel and VirtualBox modules.
It would be nice to have an nvidia package which works with the current kernel.

Steps to reproduce:

* Connect display to DVI
* Reboot
* After login, the visible screen is shifted

I cannot reproduce the problem, and I use DVI too. There is not much we can do before an upstream fix.

I think DVI is not afected with this bug, only VGA.

I found a workaround. Using xrandr to set the resolution with the switch "--rate 60" gives me my proper resolution.

The th3voic3 solution works perfect for me, thanks!
