Description:

After update to 5.14.2 every kde action is slowed down, as with 100% CPU load. Kicker menu appears in 2 seconds, application started from panel - freezes plasma for 2-3 seconds, until application will starting etc. Downgrade to 5.14.1 resolves this issue.

In .xseesion-errors was message like "bas kservice version" or so. Unfortunately can't get this message again - log file was ovewrited, but if needed I can install 5.14.2 again and paste exact phrase.

After upgrading to 5.14.2, files in ~/.cache/ keep rebuilding every second.
This causes major slow down in plasma and lots of disk i/o.
Downgrading to 5.14.0 fixes it.

Plasma 5 doesn't even start for me with this version.

I confirm desktop is totally borked - and ksycoca5 is restarted - runs exits - restarts in a loop.
5.14.0 does not have this  bug 5 .14.2. does.

Can confirm, kbuildsycoca5 is going into an infinite loop. Makes kde extremely sluggish.

Downgrading to extra/kservice resolved the problem for me.

This bug is already acknowledged upstream and work is ongoing for a fix. No need for more confirmation replies, please. If you have something useful to add, please do it on the upstream report: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=352854

Given the severity of this bug - perhaps downgrading the testing package to 5.14.1 would make sense? The bug is not yet fixed upstream.
